Our website has a lot on it — five packages, temple pages, darshan guides, itineraries, prices and timings. Most of it is practical information we have gathered because guests kept asking. This page sets out how reliable each kind of information is, and corrects the assumptions people most often arrive with.

It should be read along with our Terms & Conditions, which cover any tour you book. It does not replace them.

Mumbai Temple Darshan is an independent, privately run tour company. We provide road transport, a driver-guide and practical help for visiting temples.

We are not a temple, a temple trust, a religious institution, a charitable body, a priest or a religious authority. We are not connected to, sponsored by, backed by, licensed by, appointed by or working for any of them. We hold no religious position, and nothing we say about a ritual, a shrine or a tradition carries any religious authority.

Where our guides explain a ritual, a festival, an offering or a piece of temple history, they do it as well-informed ordinary people who spend their working lives on this route. Treat it as helpful background, not as a religious ruling. For anything that matters to your own worship, ask a priest at the temple.

We are also not connected to any government tourism body, and we neither hold nor claim recognition from the Ministry of Tourism or any state tourism department.

We name the temples our tours visit — among them Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, Shree Mahalakshmi Temple, Shree MumbaDevi Temple, Babulnath Temple, ISKCON Juhu, the Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir at Shirdi and Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati at Pune — purely to describe truthfully where a package goes.

Those names, and any symbols, logos or marks that go with them, belong to their own trusts and institutions. We use them only to describe, and claim no right, licence or interest in them. Their appearance on our website does not mean they are connected to us, or that they back us in any way.

If a trust would prefer we describe a visit differently, we will. Write to contact@mumbaitempledarshan.com.

We use the phrase "comfortable darshan" on this website, and we mean something particular by it: the earliest start we can manage, a route ordered around aarti timings, an air-conditioned vehicle waiting between shrines so nobody stands about, help at the entrance and the offering counters, the lift instead of the steps for elderly guests where a temple has one, and honest advice about your date before you book. It describes comfort and planning. It says nothing about how long you will wait, and it is not a claim of priority.

We will not tell you how long a queue will be, because nobody can know. What we will tell you is which dates are difficult — Tuesdays at Siddhivinayak, Angarki Chaturthi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Maha Shivaratri at Babulnath — and we say so before you book rather than after.

An older printed brochure of ours did once make priority-access claims. It has been withdrawn, it is not part of any booking, and if you have a copy, please ignore those pages and go by this website instead.

If anyone has told you we can walk you past a queue — including anyone claiming to work for us — they were wrong, and nobody gave them permission to say it. Please tell us so we can put it right.

Search for temple darshan in Mumbai and you will find agents and websites selling "VIP passes", "priority darshan" and "fast-track entry", often for ₹300 to ₹1,500 or more.

• They are not sold by us, and we receive nothing from anyone who sells them.
• They are usually not official temple products. Some are genuine and some are not, and a few are simply not what they claim to be.
• Shree Siddhivinayak Temple does not sell a public fast-track pass. Entry is free, and the trust controls it.
• Some temples do run genuine paid services of their own — pooja and abhishek bookings at Siddhivinayak through the trust's own website, and darshan and aarti passes at Shirdi through the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust. Those are real, and you buy them from the trust, on the trust's website, at the trust's price. We are glad to help you find and understand them, and we add nothing on top.

If you are being offered anything else, check it carefully before paying. On peak days temples manage entry tightly and no arrangement, official or otherwise, shortens the wait.

Every timing, aarti schedule, entry fee, dress rule and restriction on our website is a guide only, gathered in good faith and correct as far as we knew when we wrote it.

All of them are set by each temple's own trust and can change without notice — for a festival, a ritual, a repair, a security measure, a VIP visit, or no announced reason at all. What may be carried in, whether photography is allowed, whether a cloakroom is open, and how a queue is arranged are the temple's decisions and vary day to day.

Please check anything you are depending on with the temple directly before you travel. If we notice that something we have published has changed, we correct it — but we cannot promise to know before you do.

The darshan guides, temple pages, festival notes and glossary on this website are general information written to help you plan. They are not:

• religious advice or guidance — see clause 2;
• legal, financial or tax advice;
• medical advice. Nothing we write about walking, standing, heat, barefoot stone or fitness for a long day takes the place of a doctor's opinion about you, and clause 13 of the Terms & Conditions sets out your responsibility here;
• professional travel advice about visas, immigration or travel documents.

We write them carefully and we correct them when we find them wrong, but we cannot promise that every detail is complete or up to date, and we are not responsible for a decision you take only on the basis of a page on this website. Where a guide mentions someone else's fee, website, timing or process, that belongs to them and may have changed.

Published fares are our standard per-person rates for a group of four or more, and are shown in Indian Rupees. They are a guide to the price, not a firm offer you can accept, and they may change.

The fare that applies to you is the one in the written confirmation we send you. If a page on this website is out of date, or a saved copy shows you an older price, the confirmation is the one that counts — see clause 23 of the Terms & Conditions.

Nothing on this website is a statement that a date or a vehicle is available. Availability is confirmed only in a conversation with us.

Journey times, distances and how long a package takes — around five to six hours for the half-day tour, a full day for the others, 14 to 16 hours door to door for Shirdi and about 12 for Pune, 240 km and 150 km each way — are honest estimates for a normal day.

Real times depend on traffic, weather, roadworks, processions, VIP movement, temple crowds and how long your group chooses to spend at each shrine. Treat every time we give as a plan, and do not fix anything tight straight afterwards. If your day has a fixed deadline in it — a flight, a train, a sailing — tell us when you book so we can leave real spare time.

Most photographs on this website are free-to-use pictures of the temples and landmarks themselves, taken from Wikimedia Commons and used under the terms their photographers chose — Creative Commons, public domain, and similar. Each image carries its photographer and licence on the page where it appears, and the full list is published with the website's source code.

Our explainer video is drawn, not filmed. It shows what a typical day looks like, and no temple drawn in it is meant to be a particular temple.

A picture may show a temple as it was on the day it was taken. Buildings get repaired, repainted and rebuilt, and the crowd in a photograph is nothing like the crowd on a Tuesday morning.

We publish three figures on this website, and this is exactly what they mean:

We choose which reviews to show, so what you see here is a selection and not everything we receive. We read every one. Reviews from guests who asked us not to publish theirs are never shown at all. So please do not read the reviews on this page as a fair sample of all our guests — for that, look for reviews on a site we do not control.

We have never offered money, a discount or an upgrade in exchange for a review, we do not ask anyone for one, and we never ask a guest to make one positive. If you would like to see reviews we cannot pick and choose, ask us and we will point you to whatever can genuinely be checked at the time.

Our home page shows a feed of our own Instagram posts, loaded from Meta's servers. Meta's own terms apply to that content and how it reaches you; opening a page that shows it lets Meta see your IP address, as the Cookie Policy explains.

Where we link to somebody else's website — a temple trust's booking page, an official page, a reference source — we do it because we think it is useful. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for what is on them, how correct they are, or how they handle security and privacy, and a link does not mean we back them. Check anything important at the source.

We allow AI search tools and assistants to read this website, because more and more guests plan trips through them. We have no control over how such a tool sums up or rewords what it reads, and a summary you see elsewhere may be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong. Only this website and our written confirmation can be relied on. If an AI assistant tells you we offer priority darshan, it has made that up.

A temple day is more physical than it sounds: queues, barefoot walking on stone that gets very hot, steps at some shrines, crowds, and long hours in a vehicle on outstation days.

You are the one who must decide whether you and everyone on your booking are fit for the day you are booking. You are also responsible for bringing your own medicine, looking after your belongings, and keeping an eye on children. We carry a basic first-aid kit only, and our drivers and guides have no medical training. We strongly recommend travel and medical insurance for everyone. Clauses 12, 13 and 18 of the Terms & Conditions set this out fully.

Crowded shrines and festival days carry the risks any crowd carries. Follow the temple staff's instructions, keep your group together, and keep valuables at your hotel.

We run through the monsoon, and a wet morning is not a cancellation — Mumbai's temples in the rain are, if anything, more beautiful. But heavy rain slows everything, waterlogging closes roads at short notice, and an outstation highway can become genuinely unsafe.

Anything this website says about weather or seasons is general, and it is not a forecast. We watch the conditions on the day and will tell you honestly if we think a journey should be moved. Where a journey is affected, clause 8 of the Cancellation & Refund Policy applies.

Where we mention or arrange something that somebody else provides — a hotel, a restaurant, a priest performing a pooja, a florist, an official temple pass — we are only the one arranging it. They deliver the service, on their own terms, and we do not control their standards, their prices or how they behave. Clause 14 of the Terms & Conditions sets out how far our responsibility goes.

We aim to keep mumbaitempledarshan.com correct, working and available, but we cannot promise that it will never go down or never carry a mistake, and we are not responsible for any loss caused by the site being unavailable or by an error on it.

The site is built to work offline: your browser keeps a copy of pages you have visited so you can read them without a connection. A page shown from that saved copy may be older than the live one — a price, a timing or a package may have changed since. A banner appears when you are seeing a saved page. Always confirm anything that matters with us directly.

Our responsibility to you, and the limits on it, are set out in clause 17 of the Terms & Conditions. In short, the most we can be made to pay for a booking is what you paid us for it, and we are not responsible for losses that follow on from the problem, such as a missed flight or a wasted hotel night.

Nothing in this disclaimer, or anywhere else, removes any responsibility that the law does not allow us to remove — including responsibility for death or injury caused by our negligence (our failure to take proper care), for fraud, or under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

If anything on this website is wrong — a timing that has changed, a fee that is out of date, a temple rule we have described badly, a photograph credited to the wrong person, or a claim that sounds bigger than we meant it to — we want to know, and we will fix it.
