    The Story

    About ISKCON Temple (Hare Krishna)

Established in 1978, the ISKCON Juhu temple is one of the most beautiful and largest Hare Krishna temples in the world. Set amid lush gardens near Juhu Beach, it features stunning marble architecture, magnificent deities of Radha Rasabihari, and a serene spiritual atmosphere. The world-famous Govinda's vegetarian restaurant and the joyful Sunday feast are highlights not to be missed.

    History & Significance

The ISKCON Juhu temple — formally the Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Mandir — was inaugurated in 1978 under the guidance of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Prabhupada personally oversaw its creation in his final years, calling it a 'palace' for Krishna. Built on a prime plot in Juhu just steps from the beach through the efforts of devotees worldwide, its presiding deities Radha Rasabihari and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai are counted among the loveliest Vaishnava deities in India. The four-acre complex also holds a guest house, restaurant and meditation halls.
