Siddhivinayak Darshan — What's Official, What's Not
Shree Siddhivinayak Temple does not sell a fast-track pass to the public, whatever many websites imply. Entry is free, the temple trust sells official pooja and seva bookings that include darshan, and queue time depends almost entirely on which day you come. Here is exactly how it works — and how to plan a visit around it.

Is there a VIP pass at Siddhivinayak?
No. There is no VIP pass, no priority ticket and no fast-track darshan at Siddhivinayak, and the temple trust sells none of them. Entry to the temple is free.
That is not our opinion. On 11 July 2010 the Maharashtra government issued a resolution cancelling VIP passes for speedy darshan across 3,067 state-run temples, naming Siddhivinayak, Shirdi, Kolhapur Mahalaxmi and Pandharpur among them. Senior citizens, pregnant women and parents with young children kept their direct entry. The passes a visitor could once obtain have not existed for over fifteen years.
What you will still find is a great many websites selling a Siddhivinayak “VIP pass” or “priority darshan ticket”, usually somewhere between ₹300 and ₹1,500. Those are third-party services. No such product appears on the trust's own website or its booking portal, and buying one does not get you anything the free queue does not. If you want to spend money at the temple, the official route is a pooja or seva booked on siddhivinayak.org or the trust's app — those include darshan, and they are genuine.
We do not sell priority access either, and we could not if we wanted to. What a tour can honestly change is the hour you arrive and how you travel between temples — which is what the rest of this guide is about.
What darshan options actually exist at Siddhivinayak?

The often-quoted “₹50 paid darshan ticket” refers to a separate fast-moving queue the temple has operated at various times; it is not a bookable online pass. If a website sells you a Siddhivinayak “priority ticket”, it is a third-party service, not an official temple product — check it carefully.

Timings: the temple is open roughly 5:30 AM–9:50 PM Wednesday to Monday, and from 3:15 AM on Tuesdays. Kakad aarti is 5:30–6:00 AM. How do you book on the temple's own site, step by step?
Everything the trust sells online sits under the Temple eSevas menu on siddhivinayak.org. That menu is the only place to start: if a booking did not begin on the temple's own domain, it is a third-party service, whatever the page looks like.

Registering takes a full name, mobile number, email and password. Beyond that point the tariffs, slots and rules sit behind the login and the trust changes them from time to time — so we deliberately do not reprint numbers here that could be out of date by the time you read this. Open the official page, check what it says today, and carry photo ID and your confirmation. The temple also runs an official Siddhivinayak App; at the time of writing the site carries a notice that the app is being updated.
Do you actually need a tour or an agent? Honestly, no.
You do not need us — or any agent — to have darshan at Siddhivinayak. Entry is free, you can walk in during temple hours, and every official pooja is booked directly with the trust on its own website. Anyone who tells you a middleman is required is selling you something the temple does not require. What a private tour changes is the day around the darshan, not the darshan itself. It is worth paying for when you are coming from another city and don't want to sort out Mumbai's travel arrangements on the morning of your visit, when you're travelling with elderly parents or small children, when you want several temples in one day without working out the order and the traffic between them, or when you simply want a car waiting rather than a taxi hunt at 6 AM. That is the whole offer — comfort, timing and planning. It is not access, and we will never tell you it is.

What is the price of a Siddhivinayak VIP pass?
There is no price, because there is no such pass. Maharashtra cancelled VIP speedy-darshan passes at 3,067 state-run temples, Siddhivinayak included, by a government resolution of 11 July 2010. Websites offering one at ₹300 to ₹1,500 are third-party sellers, not the temple, and the trust lists no such product.
Is there an entry fee at Siddhivinayak?
No. Entry and darshan are free for everyone, every day. The only money the trust takes is for official poojas, sevas and donations, booked on siddhivinayak.org or the temple's own app. Nobody needs to pay to see the deity.
Is there a separate VIP queue at Siddhivinayak?
Not one you can buy into. Yes — on the biggest Ganesh festivals, including Bhadrapad Ganesh Chaturthi and Maghi Ganesh Jayanti, the doors close roughly 10:45 AM to 1:30 PM for pooja, naivedhya and aarti. Arriving during that window on a festival day means waiting it out, which is one more reason festival visits are best made at dawn.
How do I reach the temple from the airport or my hotel?
The nearest suburban station is Prabhadevi on the Western line, with Dadar about 2 km away as the main junction station. From either Mumbai airport allow roughly 45–90 minutes by cab depending on the hour — traffic, not distance, decides. Parking immediately around the temple is tight, which is another argument for an early start.
How much time should I keep for the visit?
On a quiet weekday morning, budget 1–2 hours for queue, darshan and prasad, plus travel each way. On a Tuesday or a festival day, treat it as half a day or more. These are estimates from local experience, not guarantees — the queue is the queue.
Can elderly parents manage the queue?
On weekday mornings, usually yes — the wait is short and the temple grounds are easy to walk around. Avoid Tuesdays and festival dates with elders, or arrive at opening. On our tours the vehicle waits at every stop so standing and walking stay to a minimum, and we plan the order of temples around whoever in the group tires first.
What does a private darshan tour cost, and what happens after I message you?
Our Mumbai temple tours run ₹2,000–3,000 per person for groups of four or more, including a private AC vehicle, hotel pickup and drop, prasad assistance and flexible timings. Temple entry stays free and official poojas are booked with the trust at their own tariff. You message or call us at least 24 hours ahead, we confirm your date and vehicle, and you pay by UPI or cash before the tour — cancellations more than 12 hours ahead are free, and within 12 hours carry a 50% charge.
